Valentine Cards

Good evening my friends. I hope everyone is staying warm. This weather has certainly been crazy this week, Wednesday we had a high of 43 and Friday we will have a high of 63 and going up over the weekend. No wonder everyone is getting sick. The good thing about it being so cold for a lot of you, you have been able to get into your craft room. I have been off for these past 3 days and have done the same thing.

I finished my Valentine cards about a week ago, but didn't want to post until I had mailed them out. I used an old Stampin Up set for my cards this year.

I got my inspiration from an older post (2011) by Candace Mitchell, candid-candace.blogspot.com if you want to check out her blog.I kept the basic idea but changed a couple of things. I like the way my card came out and was so happy I got them done in plenty of time. I ended up making 23 to send out to family and friends.

That's it for me for tonight. Everyone have a good weekend, I'm working.  But it's a good trade off because after working for 3 days, I will be off for 6 and will be getting back into my craft room. So good night and BIG HUGS to you all.

Scrap Day

A couple of weeks ago I had some friends come over to scrapbook, since I was actually off on a Saturday. Had such a good time with these fine ladies. I worked on my Valentine cards (which I will post tomorrow) while they worked on their own projects. It was a good day!

Dana here is working on her Project Life album to determine how she likes it. By the end of the day, she was hooked and happy to get old photos into photo safe albums.

Ivonne working on her project. Working on placing her Christmas cards into her albums. I see the card I made her.

This is Paulie, she didn't scrapbook since she had her grandbabys birthday party to go to, so she just socialized with us until she had to leave. She'll have to crop the next time.

My work space, working on my Valentine cards.

Paulie, Ivonne and Dana. Three very lovely ladies!

Some of Ivonne's completed pages.

Almost done with my cards.

Ivonne giving Dana bunny ears.

I hope you enjoyed my day as much as I did.  Have a good night and BIG HUGS to you all.

A New Card Die

Hello my blogging friends! I hope everyones week is turning out the way you want. I know it's pretty cold here in Northeast Florida. I know all of you further north are really getting it bad. I've been working the past 4 days and had not been able to get into my craft room until this evening. However, while I was working I did receive some new dies and stamps.

I was able to use my new Surprise Pop-Out Card Die from My Creative Time http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ tonight for a good friend of mine who will be retiring at the end of this month. Once I got the hang of what I was doing I had a good time creating this card.

Since this card is for a man, I could not do any bling, but do love the color combination I used.

As you can see, the card pops out to reveal a surprise. They showed several different ways to use this pop out. I just love the idea of having a place for a gift card.  There is also a gift card pocket that I seriously think I am going to have to order.

The stamp set I used is Sentiment Sampler by Paper Smooches that I got from Simon Says Stamps  http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/

I've got another card to make and going to use my die again. I'm really enjoying this die. Thanks Emma!

Have a good evening and BIG HUGS to you all!

Happy Mail

Hello my friends. I don't have a project to share today, but wanted to share with you the happy mail I recently received. I'm actually working on my Valentine cards, so I can't show them right now, they are still a work in progress.

There is a blog I go to quite often. The owner is Kristina Werner and her blog is called kwerner design.
Here are the links        www.kwernerdesign.com.  www.simonsaysstamp.com

I really like her blog, she has videos several times a week. She can be found on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Tweeter. I think there are a couple of other places too. One of the last videos she made she used the stamp sets I received today. I got them from Simon Says Stamps and the stamps are by Paper Smooches. I just thought it was so cute, I had to order them for myself. I can't wait to try them out.

I also got the new CardMaker magazine. I love getting my magazines.

Well that's all for me so I want to wish everyone a great week and BIG hugs to you all.

Project Life Album

Good evening my friends. I hope everyone has been having a good week. I was fortunate enough to have this past weekend off and had a good friend come over to do some crafting. She made her Valentine cards and I made a card for a friend and was able to work on my Project Life album.

Becky Higgins created these albums to get pictures in scrapbooks to preserve them, versus sitting in boxes. I love to scrapbook, but I have so many old photos (the ones I worked on are 2001 & 2004)  I needed something to help me along. These albums have photo slot pages that need little or no embellishments. I wanted to share with you what I put together for these few pages. I do want to apologize for the poor quality of the photos, it was night time and just couldn't get good shots but you will get the idea.

I got my kit from QVC that included the pages and the journaling cards. I know Michaels now carries these albums and everything you need to put them together. If you just need to get your photos in scrapbooks, but don't really have a lot of time to do the traditional scrapbooking, then give this a try.

Well it's back to work for me tomorrow, so have a wonderful weekend and BIG hugs to you all.

Happy New Year Card

Hello my blogging friends. I am so happy to be off for a few days to start undecorating my house and get it back to normal. Today, I had a friend come over and we did some crafty things. I made this card for my sweet friend, who reminded me that I didn't give him a Christmas card, so I made this in-lieu of it.

As you can see, this stamp is kinda limited so I was glad to be able to pull it out, but it's so darn cute.

Once I finished the card I started working on my Project Life album.  I'll post what I've done when I finish for the night.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card and want to wish everyone a wonderful weekend and BIG hugs to you all.

Birthday Card

Hello, my blogging friends. I was looking through a Cardmaker magazine and they have a section for different challenges for each week. The one I was looking at was for June, but the challenge was to create a card, layout etc. inspired by a favorite movie. Since I had my nephews birthday coming up I decided to take that challenge for his card. Here are the photos of the card and see if you can tell what movie I based the card on.

I used an action wobble for the shield so it would have movement.

Okay, I admit it was probably pretty easy to figure out.  Anyway, I do love Captain America and so looking forward to seeing the next movie this year.

I hope you enjoyed my card and until next time BIG hugs to you all.

Happy New Year 2014

I know it' been a while since I have made a post, but time simply got away from me. I am happy to say that it is my goal to post a bit more often.  However, even though, I didn't post I did do a few things and I want to share them with you now.

These are the place cards I made for Thanksgiving dinner. I was going for the snow globe look.

Here are the Christmas cards I made for mailing out.

We had Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations in our new house and I just have to say I enjoyed it so much.  It was a little chaotic, but fun.  I look forward to doing that again next year. I wanted to share some of the pictures from our family celebrations.

Last but certainly not least are a couple pictures from our New Years Day Lunch. We made sure we had our greens, black eye peas, ham and cornbread. It was so yummy.

This is at my brother and sister in-laws house. Unfortunately, my honey couldn't be with us, he was working.

I want to wish everyone a wonderful and prosperous New Year and give BIG hugs to you all.
