Accordian Card

I am so happy that I have finally gotten the chance to make and post something. Before my cruise I had made my sister a Tri-shutter card for her anniversary.  Well, I had also made my Mom the same style card for Mothers Day. After I got back from my vacation my sister wasn't very happy with me.  You have to know my sister, but she only wants original cards from me. To appease her I decided to make her another one.  Thanks to my fellow blogger Jenn at Craftyful Gardens, http://www.craftyfulgardens.blogspot.com/, I was able to find something to create just for my sister. Make sure to check out Jenn's blog, she has some really cute things there. So here is my card that I made for my very special and only sister. I think she is going to really like it.

I'm Home!

Hello everyone. I just want to update you that I finally made it home from my Alaska cruise. We had a wonderful time and look forward to going again.  My husband and I decided it might be fun to just take a vacation to Alaska that way we have more time to explore. The weather was awesome, cloudy and chilly but not unbearable. Getting home was a chore. Our flight from Chicago to Jacksonville got cancelled Sunday night, so we spent the night in the O'Hare airport.  We were scheduled to leave on the 5:50am flight only to find out that was cancelled too. Our next flight was at 7:45pm, so we got to spend the WHOLE day at the airport. I work at the Jacksonville Airport so when I hear that someones flight was delayed or cancelled I can certainly relate to them. Anyway, we did finally get on a plane at 9:00pm and arrived in Jacksonville around 12:30am. I was so happy to finally be home.

So in-lieu of any kind of project, I thought I would share with you a couple pictures that were taken by the cruiseline.  Enjoy and I will have something posted very soon. I just gotta get back into the swing of things.

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)

For our Group challenge me and another blogger came up with the idea of making ATCs. Since none of us have tackled this before figured it would be a good challenge.  Well I must say it certainly was challenging.  The challenge was to make 3 ATCs, one for patriotic, one for summer and one for school. The only rule was to make the cards the actual size for ATCs, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2.  I had a lot of fun making these and think they will look great on a card or scrapbook page. Or, just trading with other crafters. I hope you like what I came up with..

Tri Shutter Card

This is my second post of the day.  How awesome that I got to get into my craftroom today. Anyway, my good friend and fellow blogger Sherry from Sherry's Scrapbooks and Paper, http://snodine.wordpress.com/ gave me instructions on how to make a tri shutter card.  I really thought this was going to be difficult, but it really wasn't. I gave you 3 different views.  I also used two sided paper, but the back of the paper isn't quite right for giving away. So I will just keep it for myself.

Notepad

About a year ago, I bought this complete scrapbooking/card kit.  However, just seemed to never use it. Well today I wanted to make myself a little notepad to take with me on my upcoming cruise and decided to challenge myself.  I decided to decorate my little book with just papers and embellishments from this kit. This kit has a lot of terrific papers, cardstock stickers, chipboard embellishments and envelopes. I plan to go to this kit again for inspiration and supplies.  The glittered ribbon wasn't part of the kit, but that's the only thing I used outside of this kit. I used some old index cards, so that gives my notebook that vintage look.  I also used the perforated blade of my cutter so I could tear out the pages with ease.   I used my Cinch to bind my notebook. Hope you like it.
