March Birthday Cards

Hello my friends. I can't believe it's been 11 days since my last post. I've been working quite a bit lately and just haven't had time to get into my craft room that much.

I do want to share with you the birthday cards I made for my March birthdays.

This card was made for my Father In-Law using the Stampin Up Bundle. I kept the card simple since this is for a man. However, I was very pleased with how it came out.  Other than the stamp/die bundle, I used scraps for this card.

The stamp of the elephant I found in the $1 bin at Michaels and there is no information on the stamp as to where it was made.

This card is for my nephew whose birthday is actually April 2nd, but since I made it in March, I'm including it in this post. My nephew is a big Dr. Who fan so I knew I wanted to make his card related to that. I created the phone box just making squares and rectangles. I had just bought the Paper Dolls Teen Scene and decided to use that since he will be 14.  The stamp I used is from Take Note, Cricut Bundle.

For the inside I used the die from Stampin Up. For the sentiment I wanted something related to Dr. Who so I googled Dr. Who quotes,  there were many to choose from, but decided to use this one. I'm hoping my nephew likes his card as much as enjoyed making it.

Well my friends, it's getting late so until next time BIG HUGS to you all.

Autograph Book

Hello to you again. I can't believe I'm doing another post so quickly. What I have today is an autograph book for a dear sweet little boy. My sons' childhood friend who now has a son will be going to Walt Disney World for first time at the end of the month. So for Tys' first visit I offered to make him his own very personal autograph book. Since CARS is his favorite I made his of course CARS. I used some Disney paper I already had and dived into my paper scraps, I just love using those scraps.  I also used my Cinch machine to bind it all together.

Here are all the pieces. I experimented with my Cricut markers and made this drawing on each page of Doc, another of Tys' favorite characters. I was really pleased how it came out and if Ty wants he can even color them.

This is the front of the book.
I added Tys' name for more personalization and used chipboard CARS embellishments I already had. a rub on sentiment and a little ribbon. When I finished all of the decorating, I gave the front and back, inside and outside a coat of spray clear acrylic to help endure all the handling.

The inside of the book.

The back of the book.

I hope Ty has a wonderful time on his first time visit, I am just so happy that I can contribute a little to that special day.

Until next time my friends, BIG HUGS to you.

A Detective Birthday

Hello my friends. I hope everyone is well and are starting to enjoy the time change. I know I will enjoy getting off work and it will still be daylight.

My son just had his birthday and I wanted to share with you the birthday card, box and cake pic using Jaded Blossom products. So here is what I came up with.

Since I was going with the detective theme I wanted a magnifying glass for his card and box. I ended up creating my glass using my Gypsy, I didn't have a glass in my Gypsy library.  I think I did a pretty good job. The box I made using my new We R Memory Keepers Gift Box punch board.  The little detective was from  the Top Secret Treats stamp set from Jaded Blossom.  I stamped the box with many of the sentiments included in the set.  I decided to add a mustache to my boy to make him look more like a boy. I colored him using my Copic markers.

I put 34 Hershey kisses with almonds in the box.  I used the Detective Candies stamp set from Jaded Blossom. These are so cool because they are just the right size for the bottom of kisses. There are 16 different sentiments and images related to being a detective. By the way, the reason for 34 kisses is this is his 34th birthday.

I closed up the box and made a band for it. I wanted to put a magnifying glass on the top but could not find any. However, during my search I found these Jolee mustaches, several styles and decided to put that on the top.

Here is his yummy cake. I got this delicious creation from a local bakery in our town called The Sweet Spot. I have to give kudos to them for taking my order and having my cake done the same day. Great customer service. Anyway, I decided to make this pic for his cake, just an extension of the detective theme. And the cake was soooo good, chocolate on chocolate.

My handsome son.

Now just having some fun with the mustache.

I hope you enjoyed the projects I created using all these wonderful products from Jaded Blossom, We R Memory Keepers, Copics and Jolees.

Until next time BIG HUGS to you all.
